#COL4D is participating in the first edition of the Africa Skills Week (ASW 2024), from 14 to 18 October 2024, in Accra, Ghana, where participants are being sensitised on COL’s TVET models and approaches. These include skills development partners and practitioners, education ministers, state agency officials, and the African Union Commission (AUC) @_AfricanUnion.
In partnership with the Government of Ghana, ASW 2024 is organised by the AUC and its development agency, NEPAD @NEPAD_Agency, the Skills Initiative for Africa, and the German agency for international development, GIZ @giz_gmbh. The theme for ASW 2024 is "Skills and Jobs for the 21st Century: Quality Skills Development for Sustainable Employability in Africa," aligned with the African Union’s Year of Education 2024.
COL’s participation includes panel sessions on the transformation of skills development, implementation of the Continental TVET strategy (2025-35), innovative approaches for increased access to TVET for women, persons with disabilities and youth in vulnerable context, as well as side meetings with AUC, AUDA-NEPAD and GIZ.
