Helen Askounis is COL's Knowledge Management Coordinator. As part of COL's Knowledge Management Team, her work involves Communications and Public Affairs, Information Technology and COL's Information Resource Centre where information and tools are created, disseminated and archived through COL's intranet, website and other Web 2.0 applications and/or databases. In addition to providing administrative, project management, reporting and technical support for Knowledge Management activities, Helen also manages the worldwide travel of participants attending events such as the Virtual University for Small States of the Commonwealth workshops and COL's Pan-Commonwealth Forum's on Open Learning.
Helen has been with COL since January 2003. Prior to working at COL, she was the in-house graphic designer at RADARSAT International Inc. (now known as MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd., Geospatial Services Division) in Richmond, B.C. and was responsible for all aspects of the company's graphic design requirements. Helen lead the design and production of presentations, brochures, booth displays, awards, as well as creating and managing the corporate intranet to electronically house all the available sales and marketing products for this high-tech company.
