From Kiribati to Fiji: Anterea’s journey with the Pacific TVET Toolkit.

Meet Anterea Tiira from Kiribati — now studying TVET education at Fiji National University — whose academic and teaching journey has been transformed by the Pacific TVET Online Toolkit (https://pacifictoolkit.col.org/) – an initiative supported by the Commonwealth of Learning @COL4D with funding from New Zealand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade @MFATNZ.

“At first, I struggled to navigate the Toolkit,” Anterea admits. “But now, it’s a vital part of how I teach 21st-century skills and engage with Open Education Resources (OER) to enhance both my learning and my students’ success.”

As he equips future professionals for the job market, Anterea encourages educators across the Pacific to explore the Toolkit, stating, “These resources have strengthened my teaching. I truly believe they can help others grow professionally and succeed.”

His story is a powerful reminder of how the Pacific TVET Online Toolkit continues to empower TVET learners and educators across the region.
