Last month, Dr Tony Mays, Director: Education at COL, delivered a keynote presentation at a two-day conference celebrating the Golden Jubilee at the Centre for Distance and Online Education at the University of Jammu, India.

In showcasing the work of COL colleagues and detailing his own perspectives on reimagining innovation, equity and impact in ODL, his address highlights COL’s global projects in micro-credentials, graduate employability, business models for ODL provision, and Teacher-in-the-loop AI.

Webinar 3 of 3 in series on "Empowering Teacher Education through GenAI Literacy, Co-Creation and Innovation" held 6 February 2026 with focus on frameworks and methodologies for assessing the educational impact of AI-generated resources and AI-supported teaching practices. Panelists include: Dr Abdul-Wahab Nawusu Yakubu, Senior Lecturer and Head, Department of Computer Science, Tamale Technical University; Professor Sheena Boateng, academic specialising in information systems and digital transformation; and Professor Abukari Abdul Aziz Danaa, academic and researcher with expertise in computer science, cybersecurity and digital systems. COL in partnership with the Centre for National Distance Learning and Open Schooling (CENDLOS), Ghana, is implementing Phase 2 of the Teacher-in-the-Loop AI project.
