COL has signed a new five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA) to drive digital innovation in East Africa.
Under this collaboration, COL and IUCEA will:
- establish a strategic framework designed to accelerate digital transformation
- strengthen open and distance learning (ODL)
- expand equitable access to lifelong learning opportunities across the region

Through the C-DELTA programme, SchoolNet South Africa (SchoolNet SA), supported by the Commonwealth of Learning (COL), has equipped thousands of educators, students, and trainers with digital leadership skills to strengthen teaching and learning in the digital age.
With nearly 9,000 participants trained, strong gender inclusion, and nationally recognised accreditation, the initiative is expanding digital capacity and supporting more equitable, future-focused learning across the country.
