With the rise of GenAI, widening social inequalities, and rapid technological change, COL’s newest Knowledge Series publication explores how authentic assessment has become a practical necessity for ensuring assessment addresses both academic integrity and practical application in complex, real-world situations.

The authors offer timely guidance to institutions, educators, policymakers and governments for rethinking assessment and call upon educators to take a more balanced approach to AI that considers how AI should be used ethically, responsibly, and inclusively.
