COL partnering for a ‘Better Future for Women’ in Bangladesh.

Recently, the Commonwealth of Learning (COL) @COL4D met with its partner, Better Future for Women (BFW), in #Bangladesh to learn more about the skills development projects supported by COL. The meeting provided a further opportunity for BFW officials to update COL on the projects progress and share the impacts of bringing skill development e-learning training courses to remote communities in Bangladesh’s Sundarbans district.

During the meeting, BFW highlighted the establishment of Womens #TVET Corner – a dedicated space where women can access online skill development courses. This initiative has been instrumental in empowering women by providing them with the resources to learn new skills and improve their livelihoods. However, many women still face challenges accessing the centre due to cultural and logistical barriers.

Dr Jyostna Jha, Director: Skills COL, expressed her appreciation for the dedication and efforts of the BFW team in making skill development accessible for remote communities. She said the meeting underscored the importance of continued support and innovative approaches to overcome the barriers women face in the Sundarbans district and throughout Bangladesh.
